Pengcheng Wang (1978) is a Principal Investigator at Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his PhD in Plant Biology from Henan University, China in 2011. He worked as postdoctoral researcher from 2011 to 2017 in prestigious group of Dr. Jian-Kang Zhu at Purdue University, USA. He started his own research group at Shanghai Center for Plant Stress Biology since 2017. His group is working on understanding the phospho-regulation of plant responses to environmental stresses. They are using phosphoproteomics to identify the substrates of important protein kinases in abiotic stress responses and build up the protein kinase-substrate networks in the plant. He is also interested in setting up new proteomics methods to understand the cross-talk between phosphorylation and other PTMs in plant stress responses. His research group aim to identify novel components in abiotic stress signaling pathways and to improve stress tolerance in agricultural crops harnessing these novel biological discoveries.
